Work Log for Team Gamma

Group is all here.

Found some Anti-gun sites.
Learned difference between 'gun control' and 'gun prohibition'.
Read about history of how lack of European gun ban affected many.
Looked at pros and cons of gun control.
Jimmy found a good website for above.
Chris watched Jasmine, but is giving second opinions.
Edison is doing something but looks like work so it's ok.
Jasmine is keeping track of everyone and is too nice.
Jimmy has a typed a LOT.
Chris is using search through his phone.
Found out Obama and McCain debated on this subject. GOLDMINE.
Gun control debates usually arrise after a major shooting [Columbine, VA Tech, etc.]
Good points brought up.
Obama [prior-candidacy] was pro gun ban, now anti. Interesting...

Re-stating our issue a bit: including allowing of tighter gun control, but leaning towards total gun prohibition.

Got good work done today!

Obama>McCain

Barack Obama is who i would vote for, if i was eligable to vote. The reasons why would want to choose him for president are his solutions to some issues. The issues that i agree with are his answers to:

Taxes: Obama plans do tax cuts that will benefit many families. These tax cuts will help the middle-class and many small buisnessess. Obama is said that this will affect 95% of Americans. Families that don't make more than $250,000 a year, will not see their taxes increases. Families that make less that $200,000 will see their taxes decrease. Small buisnesess will recieve a 50% tax credit that will help small businesess provide health care for its workers.

Women: I support Obama's plans for women's rights. He plans to fix the health care system for women. Obama supports the fight against HIV and AIDS. I also agree with Obama on reproductive choice. The right to choose wether or not to get an abortion and to prevent unintended pregnancies. Women shouldnt have a baby if they feel they are not ready to have a child.

War in Iraq: Obama and Biden are determined to end the war and bring the troops home. He plans to give the Secretary of Defense and military commanders new missions to help end the war. He also will press Iraq to take the responsibility of it's own country and future and increase the stability of the country. A counter terrorism force will be left in Iraq to help protect American diplomatic and civilian personnel. Obama also plans to work with Iraqi authorties to keep track of potential war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Biden vs. Pailin

The VP debate was started off with Gwen Ifill explaining the rules of the debate and introducing the vice presidential candidates, Sarah Palin and Joe Biden. It was taken place at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. The debate covered many issues, such as foreign policy, the economy, global warming solutions, and the war in Iraq. In the beginning of the debate, both candidates greeted and were kind of off with their answers. Later on in the debate, their responses were more accurate and informative. Pailin focused on the concerns of Americans and being a "Maverick". Biden's responses seemed more informative and gave good counter responses. In my opinion, Biden won the debate and seemed to be more suitable for the position of VP.

Obama FTW

If you didn't get my obvious "foreshadow" from my title "FTW" (for the win), I would vote for Obama. In many cases, I believe he would be a better President than McCain and a WAY WAY WAY better President than the one we call Bush. I vote for Obama because:

Health Care: Obama will make Health Care a more affordable situation. This is better because some Americans do not have money to pay for the Health Care they need. Now the many of the Americans who could not afford the Health Care that needed it, will now have it with a proper vote of Presidential nominee. The many Americans need this because the ones that don't are getting sick and ill and are not getting the proper care.

Abortion: Obama believes that women have the right to decide whether they want to get an abortion or not. And I agree completely on this. I feel like women should get abortions if they are not ready to have a baby or have any other reasons to not have babies. All the decisions should fall completely on the the impregnated female and should not be put on the government or President to decide whether she's "ready" to have a baby or not. And I do agree with Obama's plan on sex education. This sex education will give better insight on young males and females on whether they are or aren't ready for sex and reproduction.

Education: Obama plans to make colleges more affordable. He plans on making a $4,000 tax credit in exchange for Community Service. And he also wants to hire teachers in the English and Math Department and pay them more. Also, Obama plans on rewarding teachers for their awesome teaching (Cummins!!!).
