`08 Debate

A debate between Barack Obama and John McCain was held on the 26th of September, 2008 at the University of Mississippi in Oxford. The 90 minute debate was pretty intense. Both candidates finally had the chance to express how they feel about our world today and show off their ability to become our nation's president. I feel as if Obama led the debate real well rather than McCain. Obama talked a lot about our economic crisis and was real focused about it. He was definitely calm and delivered very good answers. Obama also admitted that John McCain was right on a few occasions. On the other hand, McCain was more so focused on foreign policy. In the beginning of the debate, Obama served a strong topic about economical issues. He seemed to have pointed out that it would be the most important topic to discuss first. Later in the debate, McCain came rushing in strongest about foreign policies. "In a CBS News poll, uncommitted voters see Barack as the debate winner. When it comes to the economy, 66% say Barack would make the right decisions versus 42% for McCain.” (CBS NEWS). I personally think that by watching the debate gave me a better perspective on who will be the better president rather than reading a few articles. With less than a month and a few days to go, we Americans will soon realize who will take on to become our next nation’s president.
