September 26, 2008; Presidential debate part I

The first article said that the debate seemed as a draw. Obama seemed to be more confident and responded to the issues more knowledgeably than McCain did, mostly throughout the whole debate. However, McCain scored more points on the foreign affairs issue and grew his confidence on the issue about national security as well. On the other hand, Obama had a stronger voice dealing with the economic issue. He did a pretty good job on talking about the national security, but was weakened a little when the subject came into foreign affairs. Obama is a better public speaker and directly confront most of the challenges while McCain started of with a shaky voice. He seemed to be lacking of confidence in some parts of the debate and he barely made an eye contact to Obama.
According to the article, the results between the two were pretty much equal. Both candidates had their strong and weaknesses points on dealing with certain issues.

Second article is opinion-based once again. The writer of the article believe that Obama won the 1st presidential debate. The debate happened in Oxford Mississippi September 26, 2008. First of all, McCain was more offensive and was "playing to his base," reporter from Topeka said. He kept on talking about his experiences dealing with war. It was alright at first because talking about his experience made a stronger point and boost his confidence on the foreign affairs issue. But it then got annoying later on. Obama, on the other hand, came off as being very mild-mannered. He also appears to be more a darling to the media and American people. 20 minutes before the debate, Obama arrived at the venue and walked the last 50 feet waving at the journalists as he walked. On the contrast, no one caught even a glimpse of McCain as he entered the building 10 minutes before the debate started. McCain got out of his vehicle and was pulled into this special white Secret Service-supplied tent. Another difference between Obama and McCain was their supporters. The people who were wearing Obama buttons looked like normal people while the people wearing McCain buttons looked like Barbie and Ken. All in all, the writer seems to like Obama more because he is more approachable to the people. McCain seems like a little full of himself and is not much of a people person.
