The first presidential debate, held at University of Mississippi in Oxford, focused on foreign policy and national security. The first 40 minutes of the debate was on the economy, i liked what Barack Obama had to say on all the tax cuts and how he wanted to improve the schooling in America. In the debate you can see that Barack Obama was more comfortable in his topics then John McCain. Polling shows that voters have more confidence in Obama than McCain when it comes to the economy. McCain had more people confident when the discussion turned to his subject: foreign policy. When it comes to terrorism and Iraq, voters prefer McCain over Obama. The debate is closed as a draw because not one side did a bad job, but also none of them were straight forward with their answers. Both Obama and McCain accused eachother of streching the truth or in other words lying. McCain used his age as a way to make Obama look stupid, giving examples of different events he has been through like war. McCain in my opion is a sore loser, he couldnt look Obama in the eyes durining the debate showing a weak side, maybe beacause Obama is the New and McCain is the Old and he notices theat.
