First Presidential Debate

The first presidential debate was held in Oxford, Mississippi. This debate was favored for McCain's win because the topic was about foreign policy and national security. However, with the economic emergency happening, candidates were allowed to address the issue. I believe neither candidate delivered a knockout but landed some blows. McCain gave the impression of hostile attacks on Obama claiming that lacks the "knowledge and experience to be President." However, Obama kept his cool and launched some counter attacks of his own labeling McCain an extension to the Bush Administration. Neither candidate offered specifics on the economic crisis but Obama seemed more comfortable on this topic than McCain. When it comes to foreign policy, voters feel more comfortable with McCain. McCain claims that Obama is inexperienced when it comes to foreign affairs. Obama did hold his ground with this issue. I believe that Friday’s debate was a draw because neither candidate gave clear responses to the subjects. I believe that this debate was about tactics and strategies. McCain was more tactical because he tried to pick fights with Obama about foreign policy. Obama was being a strategist focusing on the vision of the country and bringing up the damage the war has caused to America.
