Debate

The CNN and ABC News articles talk about how the candidates did in their first presidential debate at Oxford. According to the articles, there was not really any severe knockout punches between the two and the debate ended pretty much in a tie. Both candidates presented their views on the economy and foreign policy. Obama was more comfortable with the topic of the economy. However, neither candidates were able to say what specifically they would do to deal with the economy. The topic of the economy lasted for forty minutes. The rest of the debate was about foreign policy. When the questions about foreign policy came up, McCain did a better job. McCain showed how he was more experienced with foreign issues. He constantly said that Obama is naive and "doesn't seem to understand" when it comes to foreign policy. Obama responded with comparing McCain to the Bush administration. My thoughts on this debate are that none of the candidates really impressed me. I think that my guy, Obama, did not do as well as I thought he would. This was his chance to show that he is the better candidate and knock McCain out of the race, but he did not. McCain did alright, but was not able to get the momentum he needed. With that said, the debate also ended in a tie according to my views.
