Obama is a better choice

I would vote for Obama because I believe that his views, towards handling the issues our country is dealing with right now, is better than McCain's. His proposals are better, and I like the way he responds to people's questions about dealing with certain issues. I stand for what Obama stand for.

Health care:
Not everyone can afford paying for medical expenses and this is why this issue is important to me.
The majority agree that Barrack Obama's proposal is better. Obama said that he would cut health care costs for families and businesses, and would reduce premiums for most people by as much as $2,500 per family. He would provide affordable and accessible health insurance for every American. Unlike Obama, McCain's plan would make the individuals pay taxes on the health insurance benefits they receive from their employer; he encourage people to go buy insurance on their own. Families have to pay double as well under McCain's proposal ($2,500 for individual; $5000 for families). I think that Obama's plan is better especially on the middle class poeple because it assures better and cheaper price Medicare. Larger companies would be required to provide insurance for the workers. If people were force to buy their own insurance, most likely they wouldn't even bother getting one because they are going to have trouble budgeting their income. Under Obama, people would have less worries to deal with (health care wise). In case of medical emergencies, Obama's plan would be more effective and guaranteed. People would be able to pay and afford it.

Education:
I like the fact how Obama focuses on improving teacher quality. This would affect the system of education in general. Obviously enough, better teachers would build a better foundation on strengthening our country's education. He proposes adding $18 billion a year to the education budget. He also proposes 40,000 college scholarships to encourage undergrads to enter the classroom. It's so hard to get scholarships nowadays, and people not being able to get scholarships[or not being able to pay to go to college], can affect the way our country runs. In order to have a successful society, we need well educated people; and in order to reach that, our country needs better education. If we want our country to stay successful, we need to make sure that our education is strong; we need more funds for public schools and offer more scholarships. Obama just happened to have good ideas on improving the issue better. I personally don't really like how McCain responds to this issue. He supports private schools and believes that most
school-related issues should be handled at the local level. He wants to pay teachers based on merit, and make it easier to recruit teachers from other professions.

Same-sex marriage:
I think that both candidates didn't really pay much of attention in this issue. It is an important issue, yet it is getting ignored and avoided. Obama and McCain both voted against the Federal Marriage Amendment, which legally defines marriage as the union between a man and a woman only. Obama opposes same-sex marriage, but he supports full civil unions that gives same-sex couples equal legal rights and privileges as married couples. Civil union is not considered as marriage; it is the states' decision whether to refuse it or recognize gay people to be legally live together. Marriage is still viewed as a bond between a man and a woman. McCain on the other hand, believes that states and local governments should set their own marriage policies. I wasn't satisfied with both of the candidates' proposal in this issue. But, if I have to choose between this two, I think Obama spoke better on this issue better than McCain. Unlike McCain who tried to stay away from this issue as much as possible, Obama said something and actually discussed the issue with the LGBT(Lesbian Gay Bisexual Trans gender). Atleast he had something to say and expressed his opinion about it.
