Obama vs. McCain

The first presidential debate was held in Oxford, Mississippi between Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain. The first half seemed like child's play but things heated up when foreign policy and national security was brought up. An argument over Iraq was made when Obama said McCain was wrong about the invasion and McCain answered back with Obama being incorrect with the surge. Obama said McCain and Bush ditched and forgot about Afghanistan when all attention was on Iraq. Both had different point of views when it came to negotiations with Iraq. Obama said the U.S. should be willing to talk to the leaders of Iraq. McCain, amused, replied back with a "Are you crazy?!" response. The onslaught between the two continued on when the topic got personal. McCain stated that Obama lacked the knowledge and experience to be the leader of this country. Obama did not stand down, he stated that the Bush campaign and McCain spent 8 years trying to stop the Al-Qaeda and Bin Laden, all 8 years which were failures. To me, this debate was a draw between the two. Both were at it against the each other the whole time. But both made their ideas clear about the future. I think both still have more to prove to this country.
